Madly Market Making - it never stops

So I am still sewing like the clappers to get enough stock ready for the market.

If you are in town tomorrow, come and visit the Indie Craft Caravan markets at King George Square, drop by to say hello to Splendid Love and my lovely market stall mates Sconnie & Jam.

There will be demos, and people knitting their hearts out to yarn bomb the square. Come and feel the crafty love!

Porridge!

Finally it's cold enough for porridge in the morning! A little cold spell is upon us, and we have jumped at the chance to indulge in some winter fare....yummy warming porridge. The window of opportunity is fairly brief here in Brisbane, and this unexpected cold snap so early in the season has been fully embraced.
There is, of course, contention in the house as how to prepare the porridge - I prefer a thicker, chunkier consistency, TJ likes it softer.......and then there was the salt issue. How much is too much? Should you able to taste it, or is it there just to enhance? All arguments aside, the porridge was great and we were happy to eat it up!

Market prep....

My coffee sack market bag has been included in an Etsy treasury! Woot! Nice to see, and helps when I have been down in the studio all day sewing like mad to get some bags ready for my market stall next week.

Fete treasure

We happened upon a local fete today, and along with the usual fairy floss, scouts sausage sizzle and a Tribly Misso Lawyers tent (!??!), was a stall with lovely old bottles. It was completely serendipitous, as I had just been planning to use some bottles on my market stall set up, and these are perfect!

These are a few of my favourite things...

I've jumped ship from my old blog, sometimes you just have to start things fresh, and from the start.

I've no grand announcements to make about my intentions on this blog, so let's just get on with it!

A Great Book -

Push Stitchery - curated by Mr X Stitch
I just love this book. Curated by Mr X Stitch himself, Jamie Chalmers, it explores 30 contemporary embroidery artists and their different approaches to this fine craft. The works are so marvellous really, it is a book I can pick up any old time and thoroughly enjoy having a sift through.

And make sure you check out Mr X Stitch, if you don't already, it's full of fabulous stuff!
